Surveys
Team: Michael Woods, Ellen Hjort, Lucy Baker, Gareth Norris, Wyn Morris.
Cymru Wledig LPIP Rural Wales is running a series of online surveys that will strengthened the evidence base for effective policy in Rural Wales by providing up-to-date data on key issues. The surveys are designed in collaboration with government partners and public and third sector stakeholders to make sure that they target policy-relevant questions. Some questions update earlier surveys conducted by Aberystwyth University or the Wales Rural Observatory, allowing for analysis of change over time. Other questions address emerging issues where there is a lack of relevant evidence.
The five surveys are:
- Survey of Rural Community Resilience, delivered in collaboration with One Voice Wales, December 2024 – January 2025.
- Rural Crime Survey, delivered in collaboration with the Welsh police forces, June – August 2025.
- Rural Business Survey, delivered in collaboration with Antur Cymru, planned for September-October 2025.
- Survey of Rural Households, planned for early 2026.
- Survey of Young People in Rural Wales, planned for summer 2026.
