The Policy aspect of the Local Policy and Innovation Partnership (LPIP)’s objectives is absolutely fundamental to our desire to bring about change in Wales’ rural communities. Using the data, evidence and insights gained via the projects (please see the individual project reports here), we have developed a suite of policy briefing papers, designed to support policy-makers at all levels of government, and those who wish to bring about policy change. These briefings collate the projects into a series of practical and implementable recommendations, to support those with the potential and influence to bring about real change. Evidence supported change.

Please see below the policy briefing papers, available to download. For copies of the full reports, please visit our Resources section.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss any of the recommendations in these documents.

Women in farming diversification

Understanding growth from a rural perspective

Manifesto Briefing – Policies for Rural Wales

This Manifesto Briefing Paper has been put together by Cymru Wledig LPIP Rural Wales, with the objective of offering evidence-based policy suggestions from our work and related research projects to all political parties, as they were in the process of writing their manifestos ahead of the May 2025 Senedd elections.

As an objective research initiative, Cymru Wledig LPIP Rural Wales does not represent any vested interest. The Manifesto Briefing does not present a series of ‘asks’, but provides 33 policy ideas that could make a difference.

You can download the briefing document here, and we welcome enquiries regarding the recommendations or if we can support you with future policy development.
